Since 1997, the Yahoo! group "sjpeople" has been the primary method for downtown residents to share and receive information.  Participation in the group is free and only requires that you have a free Yahoo! account.  To protect against misuse, the San Jose Downtown Residents Association manually "approves" subcription to the group.
